BRITNEY Spears has been left devastated after she proposed to her boyfriend Jason Trawick — and he turned her down.

Spears apparently asked Jason — who is also her agent — to marry her while in Sydney, Australia, where she is on tour, on November 20.

“She is in love with the idea of marriage,” a source revealed. “She has been married only twice but has proposed to many more.”

The episode led Britney to make her first impromptu address to fans at her final Sydney concert. Before introducing a song, the Toxic singer apparently said, “Have you ever really loved somebody? Have you ever really been hurt by somebody?”

Jason, 37, is believed to have flown back to the US from Sydney after the proposal.

Showbiz Spy reported last month how Britney, 27, was keen to make her relationship with Jason official.

“Britney and Jason have really hit it off,” a source said at the time. “Britney is saying how this is the first ‘proper’ relationship she has ever had. They actually talk about real stuff and he’s genuinely interested in what she has to say.

“He’s so sharp and intelligent and Britney feels their relationship is so much deeper than any one she has had before. She really feels like Jason is the kind of man who might tempt her to marry again.”
