Penelope Cruz: ‘I’m Not Good at Cooking’
PENELOPE Cruz has a guilty secret — she can’t cook!
The Spanish actress says despite playing cooks in a number of different movies, her own culinary skills aren’t up to much.
“I can cook a little bit,” she says. “I can cook a few Spanish dishes but it looks, in movies, that I cook much better than I cook.
“The things I can make, can taste pretty bad. I am not the most organized person in the kitchen but I took a lot of lessons.
“But my lessons were more like to be the assistant of a chef so I could learn to cut the vegetables very fast. I can do all of those things really well but then I’m not that good at cooking.”
It was recently reported that Cruz, 35, is set to marry longtime beau Javier Bardem.
It has been claimed that Penelope is to meet with wedding dress designers, including the House of Balenciaga.
Cruz’s close friend, actress Salma Hayek, wore a Spanish Balenciaga for her nuptials to French billionaire Francois-Henri Pinault.
“They will marry very soon, maybe even over the holidays,” a source said. “Penelope’s parents are conservative Catholics and are really pushing for her to get married.
“Javier would like to take things slowly, but Penelope wants to make her parents happy.”
