Mariah Carey: ‘I’ll Eventually Ditch my Entourage’
MARIAH Carey insists she won’t always be a diva.
The Obsessed hitmaker says she’ll eventually ditch her massive entourage of assistants.
“A very famous diva once told me, ‘Mariah, one day you’re not going to want to have all these people around you’,” Carey said.
“She was taking her own bags off of the airport carousel and I really noticed that she was in control of her own life and doing things. You don’t need to have all these people around you and it’s true.”
“Who is she?” Carey said, “I don’t want to say her name because maybe she wouldn’t be happy, but she’s someone I’ve admired my whole life.”
Carey recently revealed that she feels “baffled” by her “demanding” reputation.
“I am baffled, shocked and appalled when I am called a diva. I’ve never done one diva-ish thing in my life. The actual definition of a diva is a woman who sings well,” she said.
“The secondary definition is a woman who is difficult to deal with. I hope I am the first, but I really don’t think I am the second. I don’t believe I am truly nasty and act in a bad way.”
