Blake Lively Lobbied Ben Affleck For Movie Role!
BLAKE Lively lobbied Ben Affleck for a role in his upcoming movie The Town, the actress has revealed.
Speaking to Us Weekly magazine, Lively — who plays Serena Van Der Woodsen in the CW drama Gossip Girl — said that she was initially turned down for the part because she was too young.
“My part was supposed to be a 37-year-old. I was like, ‘I have to play this.’ And they’re like, ‘No, you’re not 37,’” she said.
“I took a train to Boston and auditioned for Ben and fought for the role, and he gave me the job on the spot. They rewrote it so I’m 29.”
Blake, 22, recently revealed that she feels like a “zoo animal” when groups of people stare at her.
“The paparazzi frenzy and the media frenzy that is happening right now is really kind of out of control,” she said. “For me, it’s very important to keep my personal life personal.
“It’s odd sometimes when people look at you like a zoo animal when you’re out at a restaurant eating dinner. People are staring at you and pulling out their camera phones. I’m just a human being and sometimes a messy eater — so it’s really unpleasant to be scrutinized like that.”
