David Hasselhoff Under Involuntary Psychiatric Hold at Cedars-Sinai
DAVID Hasselhoff has gone and done a Britney Spears!
The Baywatch star — who was found passed out at his home after suffering a seizure this past Friday — has been placed under an involuntary psychiatric hold at Los Angeles’ Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, according to RadarOnline.
David — who has a long history of alcoholism and landing in the hospital with alcohol poisoning — was taken by ambulance to the hospital on Friday. He had been drinking a large amount of alcohol before his hospitalization.
The Hoff was picked up under the California Welfare and Institutions Code 5150 that allows authorities to take into custody persons they believe may be a danger to themselves or others, are gravely disabled or suffer from a mental disorder.
Cedars-Sinai doctors agreed he needed to be admitted, and under Code 5151, hold him for up to 72 hours for a psychiatric evaluation.
David’s loved ones are reportedly keen to place the troubled star in a lock-down rehab facility to treat his alcoholism.
