CHARLIZE Theron was thrilled to land a role in new movie The Road.

The South African actress said she felt “honored” to star opposite Viggo Mortensen in the flick — about a man and his son struggling to survive in a post-apocalyptic world.

“I loved the book and so I felt very honored that they asked me. Working with Viggo was amazing. I really think they did an incredible job,” she said.

In a survival of the fittest scenario, Charlize reckons she would be fine carrying on without the creature comforts of Hollywood.

“Hey I don’t know, I think of myself as someone who wouldn’t just roll over and die, I’d fight, that’s for sure,” she said.

The 34-year-old also revealed that she was shocked to hear Mortensen didn’t wash while filming.

“What?!” she said. “I didn’t hear that.

“I was only there for three days!

“Even if I didn’t shower for three days, that’s not that bad, right? Compared to an entire film!”
