Kate Hudson: ‘My Mother Came to Nine Set’

Kate HudsonKATE Hudson felt she was following in the footsteps of her famous mother when she was filming her new flick Nine.

The Bride Wars star — daughter of Hollywood legend Goldie Hawn — says showing off her singing and dancing skills in the musical movie made her feel closer to her mom.

“It has always been something I have wanted to do. I always sang and I always danced and I always performed,” Hudson said.

“My mother… came to the set and it was fun for her. I think it was emotional for her too because that’s how she started her career. She was a dancer and she really dedicated a lot of her life to dancing.

“For her to see me dancing with a chorus of other dancers was a big thing for her because that’s where she started, as a go-go girl.”

Kate, 30, recently revealed she quit smoking because it made her smell.

“It was starting to drive me crazy!” Hudson said. “I didn’t like the way the car smelt, or my hair and clothes.

“It takes you away from the family and the things you’re doing. You don’t realize it at the time. Then when you’re done, you go, ‘Wow, I do so much more in a day — including eat.’”

Nine hits theaters in December.
