Tiger Woods Gets Nike’s Support
TIGER Woods has been given a vote confidence from one of his sponsors.
Nike — who pays the golfer a reported $40m to endorse its products — has given Tiger their full support following his car crash Friday and after rumors surfaced that he’s been cheating on his wife, Elin Nordegren, since June.
“Tiger and his family have Nike’s full support,” the company said in a statement to People magazine Monday. “We respect Tiger’s request for privacy and our thoughts are with Tiger and his family at this time.”
Woods, 33, has backed out of his last golf tournament of the year, the Chevron World Challenge in California, citing unspecified injuries from the accident.
On Sunday, the sportsman released a statement saying, “this situation is my fault, and it’s obviously embarrassing to my family and me. I’m human and I’m not perfect. I will certainly make sure this doesn’t happen again.”
RACHEL Uchitel – the woman accused of having an affair with Woods — has repeatedly denied sleeping with the star.
