Keira Knigthley: ‘Fame Isn’t a Positive Thing’

KEIRA Knightley admits she has become disenchanted with fame.
The British actress says she doesn’t view celebrity culture in a positive way because the definition has changed so much.
“If I’d thought about what fame meant when I was younger, it probably would have been for your name to be respected for something you do well,” Keira told the London Times newspaper. “I don’t know that that is any longer what fame means. I don’t see it in its modern-day connotations as a particularly positive thing.”
Keira, 24, has previously played down her star status.
“I am not a celebrity,” she said earlier this year. “I don’t go home or out with my friends saying I’m a celebrity, and I don’t ask to be treated like a queen.
“My mum and dad would not like that.”
The Pride and Prejudice has also said that she hates the internet: “I hate the Internet. I find it dehumanizing to constantly check emails or social sites which have become so fashionable.”
