ROBERT Downey Jr. says sickness is to blame for his lean physique in the upcoming Sherlock Holmes movie.

The Oscar-winning actor actor has revealed that he contracted a parasite while in Japan promoting his recent blockbuster Iron Man, so unintentionally lost weight before flying to London to film Guy Ritchie’s take on the classic detective story.

“I was in Japan promoting Iron Man, and I went to a restaurant where I contracted a parasite and got really sick for three days,” Robert said.

” I started losing weight and thought to myself, ‘Hey this is a nice jump-start!’ It just gave me a nice little head-start with the first five pounds and then I kept going until I was so thin, I felt as though I may float away.”

Robert, 44, recently revealed that he “loved” filming Sherlock Holmes.

“I loved it,” he said. “It was an incredible, positively humiliating experience for me seeing how, having always had a certain idea of England and Pinewood Studios and lousy finger sandwiches at three o’clock and all that, it was actually so civilized and an amazing learning experience for me.”
