TOBEY Maguire says he was a nightmare to live with while he prepared for his new movie Brothers.

The Spider-Man star had to lose 20lbs for his role in the flick — and his wife, Jennifer Meyer, had to put up with Tobey’s mood swings and bad temper.

“I had to lose 20lbs in five weeks,” Tobey said. “During filming I started to train and also eat very little in order to lose weight.

“I just didn’t really eat and my wife said I was not fun to be around for the whole shooting of the movie.”

Maguire — who has two children with Meyer — recently admitted that his career stops him spending time with his family.

“You’re working on the movie 12 to 14 hours a day, and then going home and preparing for the next day, memorizing lines, reflecting on what you did, and thinking about what you have to do the next day,” the actor told The Boston Globe newspaper. “It wasn’t easy. Put it this way, my wife told me I wasn’t much fun to be around for those few months.”
