Charlize Theron Still Crazy About Beau
CHARLIZE Theron says she and her boyfriend Stuart Townsend are still “completely crazy” about each other.
The South African actress and the Irish actor have been dating for over nine years and have managed to keep their relationship intact — despite the pressures the of showbiz.
“He’s a remarkable, warm and caring man,” said Charlize. “We’ve been able to make a great life for ourselves — and that can be pretty hard in this business.
“What holds us together is great love, great respect and great friendship.
“After nine years, we’re still completely crazy about each other.”
It was recently reported that Theron is planning to get Townsend tickets for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
“Stuart is a big soccer fan and is already planning on seeing as much of the World Cup as he can,” a source said.
“Charlize really knows nothing about the game but she’s calling in a few favors for tickets for Stuart and a few other friends and family for next summer.”

People seize on Charlize Theron’s beauty and talent; and in the process of doing so, they often ignore the fact that Stuart Townsend is very talented in his own right. Long before I heard of Theron, I watched Townsend in “About Adam” with Kate Hudson, and he was terrific. He has been a fine actor in other films too; and he directed and wrote the screenplay for “Battle in Seattle,” in which Theron, Woody Harrelson and an ensemble cast appeared.
He was born in Howth, a lovely seaside town north of Dublin, Ireland, and is the son of former golfer Peter Townsend, who played on Great Britain’s Ryder Cup team twice. Stuart Townsend has said about Theron: “I consider her my wife and she considers me her husband.” That seems obvious; and they are a lovely couple that deserves much happiness in the future.
Its wonderful that they havent allowed press intrusion and gossip to break them up.Stuart is a lovely,lovely guy and its unfortunate that he has had to be in projects that didnt quite take off,and because of that he is never given the oppertunities he deserves.
