BRITTANY Murphy‘s husband Simon Monjack has hit out at claims the tragic actress died of an overdose or eating disorder.

Murphy died Sunday after an apparent cardiac arrest. She was 32.

“This is what’s killing all of us,” Monjack said. “How did it happen?

“Her mom, myself and her family — we all want to know why we lost our baby.

“These rumors that she was anorexic? It’s crazy — she was slim, but that was her natural physique.”

Monjack also denied a drugs overdose could have been to blame.

Simon — who wed Murphy in 2007 — revealed his wife suffered from a heart murmur, but that it was not a life-threatening condition and did not require medication.

“There was nothing that could endanger her,” he said. “There was prescription medication in the house for her female time and some cough syrup. That was it.”

He also admitted that he had not initially wanted an autopsy performed on his wife’s body — but soon realized it was the only way to determine the exact cause of death.

“My initial reaction to the autopsy was — they’re going to cut her open — I couldn’t bear it. That would break her mother,” he said.

“But we realized we needed to know. I look forward to getting the results.”
