I like GaGa a lot but it’s to early to determine if her short term success will sustain a long term career. Sure GaGa can sing better then Britney but that doesn’t necessarily make the songs better. There were plenty of motown artists that could sing better then the Beatles but does that make them better? There are plenty of female singers with better pipes then Madonna but that doesn’t change the fact Madonna is the most important female artist of all time, has the greatest catalog of work of any female artist and is and will always be the Queen of Pop. Britney is an establish brand that has managed to stay around for a decade, Madonna is the definition of ICON as she’s been on top of the world for 30 years. GaGa rocketed to success quickly in 2009 and at this stage in the game she’s at where Madonna was after her debut album was released in 1983. To have a career to compete with Britney she’ll have to be around and relevant in 2019 (which could happen) but I doubt she’ll ever be in the same league as Her Madgesty (she’s have to last beyond 2036!!!) as Madonna is an original ICON and a Queen.
