Kristen Bell Feared ‘Burlesque’ Would Turn Her Gay

Kristen BellKRISTEN Bell was “99 percent sure” she’d turn gay while filming her new movie Burlesque.

The actress, 29, stars alongside Cher and Christina Aguilera and admits she was overwhelmed by the musical pair’s “female energy” on the set of musical-drama.

“I have never felt so much good female energy around me,” she said. “I find that I can’t take my eyes off them. I’m 99 percent sure I will leave this movie a lesbian.”

In the film, the Couples Retreat star — who is currently dating actor Dax Shepard — plays the character of Nikki — a small-town girl who moves to Los Angeles to work in a burlesque club run by Cher.

    I’m wondering, is this use of the verb “fear” in the headline an example of journalistic sensationalism? Is there just the tinniest, tiniest tidbit of homophobic bias being implied here? Did Ms Bell actually use the word “afraid” or “fear” or “worry” when, as it seems to yours truly, she said something showing respect for her fellow female actors? Maybe I am just imaginging things . . . .
