Ethan Hawke: ‘New Film is Different to Twilight’

ETHAN Hawke insists he isn’t jumping in the Twilight bandwagon with his new vampire flick Daybreakers.
The Training Day star follows in the footsteps of British hunk Robert Pattinson by playing a sexy blood sucker in the upcoming movie.
“It’s kind of funny because when I got the script it seemed like the most radically different and new thing,” said Hawke. “I had no awareness of any of this Twilight stuff.
“It’s been fascinating to watch it all explode, knowing I just finished making a vampire movie too. That’s just how it is with genre movies.
“At some point so many will be made nobody will want to see any more — just like it was with Westerns. This is very different though and I think there’s room for all us vampires for a while yet.”
