Simon Cowell Quits American Idol!

SIMON Cowell has announced that the upcoming season of American Idol will be his last.
The music mogul made the announcement during the semiannual Television Critics Association press tour in Pasadena.
Cowell says he’s leaving the smash hit TV talent show to be a judge and executive producer on FOX’s upcoming American version of The X Factor — the UK talent show that launched Leona Lewis‘ glittering career.
“I’m thrilled that we have put a date on the launch of the U.S. version of The X Factor, and delighted to be continuing to work with FOX,” Cowell said in a statement. “We have a fantastic relationship, a great team and are all very excited about this.”
Simon — who makes a reported $36 million on Idol — stands to make even more money on The X Factor when it launches stateside.
