RICKY GERVAIS: ‘MCCARTNEY LINE WENT DOWN A STORM’

“We actually came over on the same flight,” Ricky told the star-studded gathered at Beverly Hills’ Beverly Hilton Hotel. “I didn’t get to speak to him because I was up the front in first class. He was behind me in coach — saving money. He spent an awful lot last year.

“I don’t think we have to feel too sorry for him. He’s doing alright!”

Writing on his blog, the Ghost Town star says Sir Paul saw the funny side of his comments.

“So that was The Golden Globes,” Gervais wrote. “Hope everyone enjoyed it as much as I did. I was worried about the Paul McCartney line but then he came backstage and hugged me and said he loved it, so that was OK. Never piss off a Beatle — rule 1.”

Ricky Gervais the worst host I have had to watch on the Golden Globes – he was slow and boring and his jokes were weak.

I thought Rick Gervais made a great host, his jokes were fun because he didn’t play it safe like most hosts do! Bring him back next year!

Ricky Gervais was an awesome host! Brilliant job. Best line of the night had to be his introduction to Mel Gibson, and of course, Gibson’s response.

Ricky who? When did they stop having famous people hosting the golden globes?

I didn’t find him funny. I thought alot of his jokes were tasteless. I hope he’s right about not being asked to host again next year.
