DENZEL Washington says the hardest part about filming his new movie The Road was finding the perfect sunglasses.

The Oscar-winning star plays a post-apocalyptic drifter in the filck but his need for shades caused a problem for the star.

“We decided he should wear shades because this is a world where you can’t stay out in the sun too long because your eyes will burn,” explains Denzel.

“We must have gone through a million gazillion glasses trying to find ones that looked right. I went to these Harley stores buying goggles and everything. We got there in the end.”

Washington, 55, recently insisted he can “shake off” a character as soon as he leaves the movie set.

“I’m not a leading man,” he said. “I’m an actor. You get a part and you interpret the part. But the characters I play don’t touch me after I’m finished. I just shake them off.

“Maybe when you step into other people’s shoes a little piece of them stays with you because you’ve sort of lived their lives. But I don’t take it home with me.”
