Hugh Grant: ‘People Should Settle Down ASAP’

HUGH Grant thinks people should have children early in their life.
The 49-year-old actor — who has never been married or had kids — thinks it is a good idea to settle down and start a family at a younger age before they get cynical about domestic life.
“It’s not just men who don’t want to have children immediately,” Grant told Germany’s OK! magazine.
“A lot of women don’t want to be young mothers. I think that’s wrong though. I have a lot of relatives in Scotland, where people live like they did in the 50s. My female cousins were all married by the time they were 19 or 20.
“I don’t think that’s a bad thing — just to do it and get on with it before you get old and cynical and start considering marriage a bad invention.”
Hugh — who previously dated Elizabeth Hurley for 13 years and Jemima Khan for three years — says it’s hard to live with a woman and thinks relationships could work better if couples were prepared to live in separate homes.
“Maybe we should reconsider the concept of men and women permanently living under the same roof,” he quipped. “I think that kind of lifestyle is very difficult.”
