Mrs. Lawless I have admired your acting, loved you as Zena and believe you are a very talented lady that I have longed to see in more roles. However, I won’t comment on the nudity in Spartacus because your decision to do that was personal, and between you and God. Your acting is still commendable but the directing you and the other actors are getting is highly suspect. The show has great potential, the fight/action scenes good except for the superflous flushes of blood, but the gratuitous profanity detracts from the integrity of the show. Some of the curse words were spawned in the 20th and 21st century yet they are used in the era of Spartacus. They are not necessary, all that needed is a good script and good dialogue.

Yes this is an old story re-worked but the hero fighting against all odds to save his damsel is always a good story.

Spartacus borrowed from the movie The 300, but doesn’t have the integrity and character of The 300. The potential is there, but it’s not there yet. Unfortunately my wife and I won’t be watching because the filthy language is very offensive, and the dumped in sex scenes have no taste in presentation.

I believe that Lucy Lawless is an AWESOME actress! I loved her in Xena, saw some of the Battlestar Galactica episodes and loved her guest appearances in X-Files, Burn Notice and CSI: Miami. And, I totally loved the Tarzan series that she was in, before it was cancelled. She’s a very versatile and incredible actress. She absolutely is my favorite actress. I am a little surprised at this role and what it entails. I understand Lucy is an actress and accepts roles as available. But, personally, I wish she would have chosen a more ‘Moral” character to play and tell off her husband. Her husband is sexually exploiting her. Why she would lower her standards and show her body on TV, I’ll never understand. It’s meant to stay in the bedroom. I just don’t understand why she would allow her husband to put her through this!! She’s an awesome actress and could probably get any role she wants! Rob Tapert can go fly a kite, he needs to let Lucy get her own roles. I know she can do it!! She’s fabulous!!

And, if Lucy even says that “people won’t watch this show” then I believe that she isn’t ready for this show to be a hit, but quite possibly may (??) believe she shouldn’t be acting in a show like this. I Love Lucy but I disagree with this role.

Personally, I can’t see myself watching this show, it’s too much against what I believe in. We, as adults should be role models for our children. We want our kids to grow up to be mature, upstanding moral people and personally I want my kids to have a love in God in their heart. Unfortunately, Hollywood doesn’t make it easy for that to happen. I understand sex sells and of course, Hollywood is going to push the limits. It doesn’t make it morally right!! No offense, but I’m glad it’s on STARZ!

Now, I’m not a religious fanatic but I do believe in Jesus!! And, some of you are probably going to call me a right winged conservative religious nut. You know what, I don’t care, Whatever!!! I don’t claim to be perfect and sin-free, I just believe that Jesus will save and forgive me of my sins if I ask for forgiveness and repent. I don’t condemn people who will watch this show, and I believe we should respect each other’s differences and opinions. This is simply my opinion and that’s that.

First of all, I thought I read somewhere that her husband Rob Tappert is a executive producer of this show. I guess he wants to exploit his wife in this manner or she doesn’t mind doing this, why should it bother you?

I loved Lucy as Xena but however I haven’t seen this new show. The Xena; Warrior Princess had plenty of sexual induendo. If explicite behavior is displayed on Spartacus: Blood and Sand, it leaves less to the imagination. I’ll leave that comment for those who want to fanatize.

Spartacus: Blood and Sand is just a show, a person or a collaborative effort of people want to display as an enterpretation of a historical event and or as a piece of art.

I admit that Lucy has been a dream and nothing more than a dream to have, if you know what I mean. But damn, dudes get a life…….don’t express those disgusting thoughts here. Are you grown mature men ????????? Or are you looking to get your I.P. adresses investigated for Illicit behavior.

sex is more destructive than violence on tv, because let’s face it…how many teens do we know having sex compared to teens that we know killing people? While the news is always dire, sex is just so much more common and applauded, and STD’s particularly HPV which is said to come into contact with everyone by the time they die, are extremely dangerous. Even if you or you infected partner have no outward signs of it, doesn’t mean you don’t have it until one day, uh oh, I have cancer. And then there’s pregnancy, while single mothers are more accepted today, they have generally shittier lives, especially if impregnated young…and then there’s abortion which includes death and destruction. So no, blood splatters aren’t oging to make our kids murderers, but I wish hollywood would stop using sex as *laugh* “art” and stop pretending that’s what it’s about. It’s about ratings and horny nerds/idiots with beers in their hands, plain and simple. And hey, I’m married, and I want respect in my marriage, I find it weird to be exposed to naked breasts in every movie and show with my husband looking on. Whether he likes it or not, it ruins my enjoyment. How would you men like seeing penis in every film you watched while women stayed buttoned? Actually, I don’t care, because it’s clear neither do you.
