SCREEN siren Scarlett Johansson siren made her Broadway debut in A View From the Bridge opposite Liev Schreiber at New York’s Cort Theatre Sunday night.
The Lost In Translation star plays teenage orphan Catherine in the Arthur Miller tragedy.
The play — which also stars Jessica Hecht — opened to a star-studded audience on Sunday night.
Those in attendance included actors Hugh Jackman and Naomi Watts as well as Johansson’s family — although her husband, actor Ryan Reynolds, was a no show.
“He was not in the audience,” Scarlett said on the red carpet after her performance. “But my family is thrilled. My mom is like, ‘You finally — you’ve arrived’ — because I’m on Broadway.”
Johansson said she was pleased with her performance despite having doubts beforehand.
“Doing the first preview about three weeks ago, I felt — I was feeling really doomed, and convinced that I would forget everything I knew,” she said.
“Of course, once you step out on the stage, it’s just like muscle memory. We spent so long rehearsing it.”
