Meryl Streep: ‘Julie & Julia Improved my Cooking’

MERYL Streep says starring in Julie & Julia helped improve her skills in the kitchen.
The Hollywood superstar — who played legendary cook Julia Child in the (brilliant!) 2009 movie — says taking on different characters in her various box office hits has given her the chance to learn different life skills and improve on others.
“My cooking has really improved since I did Julie & Julia, it really has,” explains Meryl. “I was not so good in the kitchen before that role but now I’m pretty good.
“The group in my house thinks so anyway. I’ve had no complaints there.”
Meryl, 60, recently debunked speculation about Mamma Mia 2.
“I heard that they were talking about it, but I am not sure it’s real, it’s not anything I’m on the inside track of,” she said. “No one has told me anything yet.
“I try to live right now anyway. And right now I feel the need to stop for a moment and breathe because I’ve worked very hard in the last two and a half years, seven films — it’s a more than I’ve ever done.”
