Will Smith ‘Plans Career in Politics’

Posted by Richard Head

Will SmithWILL Smith wants to be the US President.

His wife Jada Pinkett Smith has revealed her actor husband is seriously considering swapping the big screen for politics and has his eye on one day making it all the way to the White House.

“Will is thinking about going into politics,” Jada said. “He once said he could imagine becoming a US president. He wasn’t joking, he was quite serious about it.”

Although Will can imagine himself replacing Barack Obama as president, Jada isn’t bothered about becoming the First Lady.

“It’s just not for me,” she said.

However, Jada — who raises two children, 11-year-old Jaden and nine-year-old Willow, with Will — does enjoy engaging in politics.

She wants the education system in the US reformed and is prepared to campaign for change.

“Will and I want to leave traces on this planet – and with that I mean more important traces than just films,” she said.

Jada, 38, and Will, 41, are known for their philanthropic work and set up the Will and Jada Smith Family Foundation, a charity which focuses on helping youths in urban inner cities.

To bad the rest of the country does not want a Scientology based curriculum. Otherwise I would vote for the man.

  • Fochilin

Wow. Will Smith is one of the few figures in today’s society that pretty much everyone likes.

Now only 50% of the country will not completely hate his guts. To alienate the largest amount of people in the country through adoption of a profession, politics is the one legal option you have to do so. Bad choice.

  • Braintrust

A modestly-gifted, pathological narcissist, going into politics?

    That never happens.

  • AtheistConservative

If he knew anything about politics this might be encouraging. Everyone points to Reagan as the ultimate example of the actor/politician, but Reagan was a political scholar. He spent decades learning about politics and stumping for various politicians, both as a Democrat and a Republican.

What saddens me is that Will Smith would probably win if he ran, precisely because he has the photogenic/telegenic personality that the same people who blindly voted for Obama love. And of course if you voted against him you’d be called a racist.

  • small axe

Great, just what we need-another moron without experience running for office, where have I heard that before? I guess the space alien vote counts for something.

  • James

A Scientologist in the White House. Over my dead body.

    • santosha

GO AHEAD AND DIE THEN!! IF HE WANTS IT THEN HE WILL GET IT!!! AND WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU ANYWAYS!!!! A PIECE OF DIRT THAT NO ONE WILL EVER KNOW!!!

  • PRD

I like Will Smith, but I think he really should stick to reading the lines of a pretend president.

  • DJ

    No Scientologist nutjobs.

Will Smith needs to stick to making movies for 12 year-olds.

Nobody cares what Lord Vulu who lives in a volcano thinks about politics.

  • Harley2002

Hey we elected Odumbo anything can happen. Give it a shot Will you can’t be any worse then the Marxist we have as President now. That is if we have a democracy left when he is done.

  • TingleBarry

Oh, no. Not another self-appointed rocket scientist. Don’t we have enough of those? I didn’t know he was a Scientologist–not likely that would work out well.

  • Kaloo

Great reviews….Just what I was thinking (and more)

  • mike3481

According to Smith, “My mother, who worked for the School Board of Philadelphia, had a friend who was the admissions officer at MIT. I had pretty high SAT scores and they needed black kids, so I probably could have gotten in. But I had no intention of going to college.” -> Wiki.

So therefore, “Will Smith ‘Plans Career in Politics’”… (eye roll)

    Insert laughter. LOL (eye roll)

  • Terry

Anyone remember the film ”Idiocracy” – we’re well on our way, Will Smith would just be another step in that direction.

    • santosha

YOU MUST BE TALKING ABOUT YOUR MAMA!!! MAYBE YOUR GRANDMOTHER’S WHOM IS PUSHING UP FLOWERS RIGHT ABOUT NOW. HE DOESNT NEED TO BECOME PRESIDENT. I THINK HE IS BETTER THAN THAT ALREADY!!! YOU FOOL!!!

  • Jimbo

Sorry Will. Obama screwed it up for you. After this fiasco, another black won’t be elected POTUS for at least 40 years.

    • santosha

NO YOUR FOREFATHERS SCREWED IT UP FOR EVERYBODY!!! DONT BLAME IT ON OBAMA YOU BIG FAT GOOD FOR NOTHING RACIST!!!!
      GO CHOKE!!!

      • santosha

YOU HILL-BILLIES ONLY WANT A BLACK MAN IN THE ENTERTAINMENT WORLD SO HE CAN ^&%$$ UP AND MARRY A SLUT AZZ WHITE WOMAN BUT IF THEY WANT TO TAKE OVER A SPOT YOUR LOW-DOWN DIRTY FORE FATHERS HAD YOU DON’T WANT THAT!!! GO KILL YOURSELF!!! NOWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!! WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Mr. GJG

It used to be you had to work your way up through the political system before running for President.
Now, you just have to be a wise ass Black guy.

  • bluecollarbytes

We already elected a ‘Will Smith’. His name is Barack Obama. I think it will be a long time before we elect another.

  • http://aconservativeteacher.blogspot.com/ A Conservative Teacher

I hate to stick up for Will Smith, but everyone commenting is an idiot. Being a politician does not take some sort of special skill or degree, and I don’t mean that in a cynical sense- any patriot and any citizen can be President of the United States, and any citizen and any patriot should. We should not mock the guy’s aspirations to be President just because he isn’t an Ivy Leaguer with a degree in Political Science- the democratic ideal on which our nation was founded was that anyone should and could be President.

So he’s an actor- so what? He has a job, produces stuff, and reportedly works hard. That’s more than you can say of most existing politicians.

So he believes in Scientology? He seems to be a nice guy, a good guy, and a good family man. Would you rather he have no church, or be getting his religion off his blackberry, as our current President does?

And so what if he is black? It’s not like we have a quota system- need one black guy, got one black guy already- in this country anyone can and should be President, regardless of the color of their skin.

So quit being idiots people and applaud the man, or judge him on his policy positions (whatever those are).

  • Swamp Fox of VA

It’s so simple. Get elected to a local office, show up and vote present, run for a higher office, show up and vote present, run for a higher office after 140 days of experience. It worked for Barack H. Obama. And Will is at least as smart as BHO.

  • Granny

Let’s see, Scientology and the Awful Truth’s blind vice columns that are sure to be revealed. Yeah, right. He’s gonna be in politics. This is just another celeb attention getter since he’s been out of the news lately.

  • Annielou

Hah…if the country doesn’t want a Mormon as president, even one with as much business sense as Mitt, they certainly aren’t going to go for a Scientologist.

  • Kait

Will Smith is quite a likable guy, but the Scientology thing is gonna make it so it’ll never happen. I mean, if there’s one thing that Christians and Atheists agree on, it’s that this religion is wacko. People got all freaked out over Mitt Romney being Mormon, believe me, way more people would be freaked out about a Scientologist.

  • Jennifer Angela

He seems to be a guy with good values and brains. Are you guys just jealous, because you think he and his wife are too young to be president and first lady? The choice of his serious movies shows that he is a deep person. Why can´t every country have a Will Smith as president or vice president?

    • santosha

      THUMBS UP!!!

  • Nicholas

Remember if you all know anything about history I believe it was John Adams who couldn’t read or write but was still elected president, so why the bad talking about Obama. (i’m a lefty so I have to stick up for him)

    • Shamus O’Malley

This is the most ludicrous lie posted here. John Adams has volumes of political writings. He was a scholar & author of many works including the DoI. He was on the committee appointed to draft the Declaration of Independence. The committee deferred to Thomas Jefferson for the 1st draft, but he had direct involvement with subsequent drafts & the final draft. He is the person that wrote the nomination for Geroge Washington.

To begin your statement with such garbage & improper English to boot shows what a pathetic ignoramous you are. You have zero knowledge of history & like most public educated American idiots – resort to bullshit rather than actual research. To quote you “if you all know anything about history” what a dirtbag. There isnt one single American President that couldnt read or write. The mere suggestion is so assinine it defies belief of your total & complete stupidity.

You voted for Obama because you’re stupid as we’ve seen. Now the rest of us have to live with the decisions of stupid people. Democracy sucks when the majority is Low IQ. It wasnt always this way – we had Henry Fords, Einsteins, Graham Bells, & Edisons. Today we have Snoops & Will Smith & Obama. America has fallen & other countries laugh at us now. Diverisyt is the worse thing that ever happened to America – it made us downright dumb. You dont see “diversity” in other countries. People like you made it this way dummy. The dumbness extends to every part of your life from work to family to what you post here. Sickens me.

      • LouAnn

Thank you, Shamus, for responding to Nicholas’ ignorant post about John Adams. I see posts like this all the time, lies that smear with “authoritative” sounding statements “as you know,” “it was reported,” and so on, without a shred of proof. It’s such a shame. We need intelligent leadership, but intelligent leaders don’t want the positions. The office of president is now sought by actors — people who look and sound good but have never developed their intellects. Their bloated egos (with a heaping dose of learned narcissism) propels them into the limelight — they crave more and more — and idiot Americans lap it up.

  • santosha

    YES!!!

  • http://none BADDESTRAS

stop hating you haters of black men comming up…you,ll accepted arnold..lol..please will is a smart man that build a lot in his life..these guys that act has to have knowledge of what there doing…i can see will for president.there is not enough hater red knecks to stop that…go obama…stop your hating white people..i did,nt know you had to have a degree in presidency to be president..look at all our great black leaders that made a diffrence..any way do you even know will smith level of knowledge…haters broke pockets stop hating on success..lets do a comparrison..black leaders that has made a change for the better versus the white man..every thing he touch goes backwards..s@#t if blacks did,nt build the railroads and the roads..rednecks would just chew tobbaco..

    • LouAnn

Baddestras: I want capable leaders, with vision and courage and integrity and commitment. You can find those in black community — free thinkers like Allen West, Niger Innis, Alfonzo “Zo” Rachel. Beautiful minds. And their vision blows the doors off the paint-by-number, buy-it-out-of-the-box types like Obama and, now, Will. Circles, my friend. These black men could mentally run circles around these lightweights. Look them up on Y O U T U B E. Then, when you’ve gotten really inspired, look up Thomas Sowell, one of the most brilliant and underappreciated economists (who also happens to be black). But because he’s black and he’s a free thinker, do you think the press will give him the time of day? No. Of course not. He doesn’t kowtow to the inteligentsia. Unless you research these things, the press will continue to shape your thoughts for you, and people like West, Sowell, Innis, Rachel and so on will rail against the machine. Thank God they have the stamina to stand up for the truth. If only we had ears to hear.

  • LouAnn

Unfortunately, Sowell is too old. But at least we can read his books and learn.

Can you imaging Big Willie getting Jiggy with it in the White House??

  • tomm

i think he should just stick to being an actor. He should just shelve his plans in a scottsdale self storage.

  • http://truckinsurancecompanies.com-click-here-now-for-more.info/ Truck Insurance Companies

Yeah right Tomm, Will smith can do it all and if he want to run for politics. He should go for it.
