Emily Blunt: ‘Awards Season is a Meat Market’
EMILY Blunt has compared awards season to a “meat market”.
The British beauty — who’s engaged to The Office actor John Krasinski — says she isn’t bothered about taking home gongs.
“You can’t have an awareness of what’s going to happen in awards season,” she says. “It’s such a meat market.
“The objective is that I don’t try to do the same thing. I try not to emulate something I’ve done before. And, I’m a real people watcher, so I like trying to play characters that are as diverse from each other as possible, simply because it’s more fun for me. That’s all that goes through my mind when I’m looking for a role.”
Blunt, 26, recently admitted that some of her costars have been difficult to work with.
“Working with different actors can be easy and it can be difficult,” she said last month. “Sometime you strike gold with the on screen chemistry and blow it out of the water, and sometimes it’s like…paint drying!”
