This alleged doctor absolutely should be charged criminally. As a nurse I KNOW that Propofol is NOT allowed ANYWHERE except in a critical care environment IN A HOSPITAL! This idiot had a choice to make: Should I practice competent medicine and continue to refuse Mr. Jackson’s requests to use this drug illegally (ie:in a manner NOT approved by the FDA) no matter how much he whined and demanded it -OR- Do I cave in to my celebrity client’s demands and just give him what he wants because I don’t want to lose this client, and along with it my bragging rights, and huge paycheck? It’s obvious where this alleged doctor’s priorities were. Propofol is NOT approved for the treatment of insomnia – and NEVER will be. No matter what kind of a temper tantrum Mr. Jackson threw ( and I’m sure it was a doozy), the ONLY correct answer was “No – this drug is not approved for imsomnia. You have insomnia and these are your choices – a,b, or c.” He didn’t do that. Whatever they charge him with, it needs to be a felony so he loses his license to practice. He is clearly imcompetent as evidenced by his totally wrong priorities. My thoughts, prayers, and very best wishes to his family, particularly his children.
