Carrie Underwood Lands Movie Role!

Carrie UnderwoodCARRIE Underwood is set to make her big screen acting debut!

The country music star has landed a role in upcoming movie Soul Surfer — about 19-year-old champion surfer Bethany Hamilton, who lost her arm in a shark attack.

Underwood 26, will play Sarah Hill, a church youth leader. Filming began in Hawaii this week.

Soul Surfer also stars Academy Award winner Helen Hunt as Bethany’s mother, Cheri, Golden Globe nominee Dennis Quaid as Bethany’s father, Tom and AnnaSophia Robb as Bethany.

Underwood will make her TV acting debut next month, appearing in an episode of sitcom How I Met Your Mother.
