Frances Bean Cobain Has Her Own Apartment — at 17!

COURTNEY Love bought her teenage daughter a house so she could live alone.

The Hole singer thought she and Frances Bean Cobain — her child with late husband Kurt Cobain — would get along better if they lived separately.

But her plans to surprise the 17 year old were dashed when she lost custody of her to the Nirvana star’s mother Wendy O’Connor and sister Kimberly Dawn Cobain in December.

“At Christmas time I bought her a house,” said Love. “And it took everything — I had to go to somebody else and get them to finance the house, because they’d frozen my account. And I was gonna blindfold her, put her in her house and go on the road – goodbye! That’s it. So, there’s no argument.

“She wasn’t very happy living with me, that’s OK she’s 17. Lenny Kravitz’s daughter has her own apartment at sixteen, it’s fine. As long as it’s around the corner from me and I can have some supervision, it’s fine.”

Courtney, 45, also blasted the “ridiculous” court ruling that placed Frances in the care of her relatives, insisting she doesn’t understand why the order was given.

“It’s bananas,” she said. “I did nothing. Um, I curse and I swear and I smoke and I take an anti-depressant. That’s what it said. It’s Los Angeles County Municipal Court. It’s why I got us out of there and moved to New York. It’s ridiculous.”

    That is not a good thing, the 17 shouldn’t be living on her own. Though if the house was next door at least the mother could have a chance to see what is going on, unless the mother could care less what happens to the daughter!

    It seems that Courtney is a little off-center anyways and always has been. Frances has been trying to get away for a while so let her go. She’s probably more stable than mom, which aint hard to be!

    Reading Courtney Love’s statement is enough to explain why this girl is better off on her own. Can we say trash, anyone? Unfortunately, the damage has already been done. She (Frances Bean) will be a tragic cover story on her own very soon some day. Drug-induced parenting has ensured that.

    Courtney Love tries to live her own life, privately, but due to the talent of Kurt, that would never have been possible. No way would she win parent of the year, but I have no doubt she never deserved to have anyone accuse her of hurting her huband. Most children need routine, stability and structure, but her mother is a free spirit, and they never meshed, addiction, death of a spouse, a rock star lifestyle, I hope the second forty years goes more calm for Courtney, I know things are difficult between teens and Parents, Pricilla Presley had a bit of trouble with Lisa Marie, but it all came out for the better, and I know for a fack Lisa Marie has the genetic talen her father passed her on her own right, I enjoy her music and I think Francis was blessed with her athers musical genius as well. I wish all star and entertaiment familys to be happy fanatics make life difficult and somewhat distored but thse artrist and entertainers faiys are truly a gift to the entertainment hungry public. I hope the family reconciles to a functional for them life. Not many Americans come fron functional familys, so it shouldnt be hard their family to find common ground. With the space between them.

    My son lived on his own in another city when he was 16, he is now 30 and a very successful businessman. No one knows for sure if Courtney killed Kurt, and I am sure Frances Bean wonders about that too. I hope she gets away from her mom for good when she turns 18 in August.

    I also hope that she takes care of herself….Kurt would have been so happy to see how beautiful she is.
