NICOLE Richie doesn’t dwell on the past.

The 28-year-old socialite-turned-designer — who has previously been arrested for possession of heroin and spent time in rehab — refuses to revisit her troubled history because she is so happy now.

“You know, I’m one to live in the present and enjoy the time that I’m having,” said Nicole, who has two children — Harlow, two, and four-month old Sparrow, with boyfriend Joel Madden.

“Going back into my past is just not something that I do. Right now, I’m living my dreams. To me, I’ve accepted responsibility for what I’ve done and I don’t really try and look at why I did it.

“I just feel that I have gotten past it and moved on, and it’s just something that’s not really a part of my life any more.”

Nicole also revealed she doesn’t think of her friends, who include Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton, as famous.

“I don’t look at those people as celebrities,” she said. “I look at them as people. I live my life and I do what I do, and sometimes you forget that people are watching you.”
