Carrie Underwood in Florida For Super Bowl XLIV!

CARRIE Underwood attended a press conference for the  2010 NFL Super Bowl XLIV Thursday.

The American Idol runner-up is due to sing The Star-Spangled Banner at the event, which sees the New Orleans Saints play against the Indianapolis Colts.

Carrie — who recently announced her engagement to hockey star Mike Fisher — says in a new interview that she’s getting married because she doesn’t want to grow old alone.

“I didn’t want to be one of those people who has an amazing career but ends up alone and unhappy,” Underwood says in the March issue of Cosmopolitan magazine.

“I want to be happy. I want it all.”

The Super Bowl XLIV will air February 7 on CBS.

    Carrie Underwood deserves better from CNN reporting than some disinterested writer putting that kind of base level incorrect stuff out.

    She has taken the music world for a wild ride ever since, too. Just in case you need to be told what else she has been up to ever since SHE WON American Idol.

    And Queen Latifah – what a star. I love that these two ladies are being promoted by the NFL. Great choices. Queen Latifah singing America the Beautiful will probably make me cry. I can hardly wait.

    You go, girls. And next time around this writer should well – uhm er, not be assigned to report on topics he/she cares so little about vetting out – in regard to the most basic information and the persons involved.

    Disappointing, CNN. Really.
