ANNA KENDRICK WANTS TO TAKE ADAM LAMBERT TO OSCARS!

ANNA Kendrick has revealed her dream date for the Oscars — American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert!

Kendrick — who stars opposite George Clooney in the critically-acclaimed new movie Up In The Air — says she has known Lambert since she was a teenager and would love for him to be her red carpet companion at this year’s Academy Awards.

“We saw each other at party about a year ago and he told me, ‘You can’t tell anybody but I tried out for American Idol and I got through Hollywood Week’,” Anna told Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS-FM radio show.

“I was like, ‘Okay! You can’t tell anybody but I just booked this movie with George Clooney!’ We didn’t see each other again for a year and finally we saw each other at the Critics’ Choice Awards and the SAG Awards. We were like, you know, it’s been quite a year for both of us.”

“Um, he’s a good time,” Anna said when asked if she’d like to take Adam to the Oscars. “He’s fun. He’s a really, really fun dude.”

Lambert, 28, recently congratulated Kendrick on his Twitter account, saying, “Congrats on your Oscar nom! Crazy! So, so proud.”

Anna is up for the Best Supporting Actress gong for her role in Up In The Air. She faces competition from  Penelope Cruz, Nine; Vera Farmiga, Up in the Air; Maggie Gyllenhaal, Crazy Heart; and Mo’Nique, Precious: Based on the Novel ‘Push’ by Sapphire

The 82nd Academy Awards take place at Los Angeles’ Kodak Theatre on March 2 and will be hosted Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin.

    I never even heard of her before the Adam stories. It might spotlight her as young, open minded and fun. But in the end, she has to look at her own press and image. Hope she asks him though!

    She is really adorable and was perfect in the movie. But she’d probably rather have a date like Mr. CLooney than sweet Adam since he plays for the other team. This is just a rumor.

    Heck no if you were up for some award last thing you want is anybody but a supportive friend to hold your hand and be there for you. She and Adam have been friends since they were 18 so they’ve both struggled thru this entertainment business for at least 10 years. He’d be able to totally relate to her! He’d be perfect as an escourt because she wouldn’t have to pretend while he is around as well. Go with a straight guy and you’d have more pressure added. Go with your old pal Adam and you have someone who has your back. If she was smart she’d go with Adam.

    Um, she didn’t say she wanted to take Adam to the Oscars. If anything, she sounded like she was being put on the spot when Ryan Seacrest asked her about it – at least that’s how it comes across in writing. I’d love to see it happen, mind you, but Ryan was out of line when he tweeted that Anna might be asking Adam to accompany her. It immediately got picked up by every gossip site on the Internet, and now it’ll be awkward if she ends up taking anyone else. Not fair to either Anna or Adam.

    It’s up to her and yes it sounds like she may be on the spot. But they have known each other for years and if she doesn’t have a boyfriend or other close male that is into this sort of thing, Adam would be the perfect companion.

    I hope it happens but won’t hold my breath.

    The reason she knows Adam is because Adam was a plant on American Idol and had plenty of experience before he appeared on Idol in the entertainment industry.
