KIEFER SUTHERLAND TO UNDERGO SURGERY; ’24′ PRODUCTION GRINDS TO A HALT!

KIEFER Sutherland is set to undergo surgery — forcing production of 24 to be temporarily shut down.
It’s not known what surgery Kiefer — who plays counter-terrorist hero Jack Bauer in the Fox network thriller — needs, with the networking referring to it only as “a medical procedure.”
The Los Angeles Times claimed Sutherland suffered from a ruptured cyst. Shooting is expected to resume next week with the actor’s return.
About six more weeks of production time remains for the season. Fox says no disruption is expected in airing the episodes.
The show is now in its eighth season.
Sutherland recently admitted he finds doing his own stunts increasingly difficult, but always gets involved with as much of the action as he can.
“It’s amazing that I’m still alive,” he said last month. “Jack Bauer’s taken an a*s-kicking, that’s for sure. It’s kind of in keeping with the character that he’s taken as much as he’s dished out.
“But you can’t fake the physical side of it. If you’re hanging underneath a garbage truck going 45 miles an hour, you’re not going to be faking your fear. You jump off the side of a building, you’re gonna react the way you should.
“Some of the stunts I can still barely do, but I’ve loved doing them.”
