KATHRYN BIGELOW TIPPED FOR OSCARS GLORY!

Posted by Adam

Kathryn BigelowKATHRYN Bigelow has been tipped for Oscars glory by the two biggest names in Hollywood.

James Cameron — Bigelow’s ex-husband — and Martin Scorsese are keen for Kathryn to win the Oscar for her film The Hurt Locker this year.

“It’s an irresistible opportunity for the Academy to anoint a female director for the first time,” said Avatar director Cameron, who is facing competition from Bigelow in the Best Picture and Director categories.

“That is a very, very strong probability, and I will be cheering when that happens because I’ve worked with Kathryn over the years and have been a huge proponent of her as the genius director that she is… For me, it’s a win-win deal.”

Cameron added that he doesn’t feel a strong desire to repeat his 1998 Oscar glory for Titanic: “I’ve already got my statues. I don’t feel greedy or needy at all, but it does sweep you up in its momentum.”

“Maybe [she will win],” Scorsese added. “I’ve always been a fan of hers, over the years… She’s good, she’s really good.”

The 82nd Academy Awards take place at Los Angeles’ Kodak Theatre on March 2 and will be hosted Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin.

It’s a good film, but not Best Picture material, not by a long shot.

I was so impressed by her film, I hope she wins. I’ll be super upset if James Cameron gets it over her.

Katherine Bigelow’s nomination is nothing more than a Woman’s Lib attempt to steal some thunder.

The Hure Locker was a female approach to an excess of Testoserone in war. Fragmented and foolish plots.

    Ridiculous.

That’s okay, it’s not your fault you didn’t finish grade school. There’s nothing even remotely feminine or feminist about the film. Anybody who says they can see female or feminist agendas in it is full of shit.

Very generous ad magnanimous of Cameron.

I loved the testosterone filled Hurt Locker and actually had no interest in Avatar. A female approach? Not sure but the fight scene was hot.

She should win an award for Best Milf.
