Drew Barrymore to be Honored by GLAAD

DREW Barrymore is to be honored by the the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD).
The actress — who has always been an outspoken supporter of gay rights and even took to the streets of West Hollywood to protest when the California Supreme Court voted to uphold Proposition 8, which banned gay and lesbian couples from getting married last year — will be presented with the organization’s Vanguard Award.
“I was born, bred and raised among diversity, it has defined me and made me the person I am today,” says Drew. “I’m honored and humbled to be receiving this award.”
Comedian/talk show host Wanda Sykes is also being honored with the Stephen F. Kolzak Award during a gala in LA on April 17.
