Ellen DeGeneresTENSIONS between Simon Cowell and Ellen Degeneres on American Idol are hotting up!

Sources say the duo hate each other — and they’re not even trying to hide it!

“Ellen can’t stand what she believes is Simon’s cruelty toward contestants,” an Idol insider told TMZ.

“Simon actually enjoys pissing Ellen off with his blistering critiques. It all started badly when Simon showed up late for Ellen’s first week of Idol and made her wait around.

“Producers separated them but the tension has gotten worse.”

But it appears the tension is winning viewers  — Idol is beating the Olympics, and ratings for Ellen’s show skyrocketed last week, TMZ reports.

    personally i think degeneres is a joke she thinks she is funny but i think she is very arrogant american idol would not survive with out simon if the contestants can’t handle the truth then they don’t need to be on the show anyway

    Give me Simon Cowell anyday, a genuinely nice man with no hang ups unlike Missy Nasty there.
