The New York Yankees slugger — who has previously dated Madonna and Kate Hudson — has dumped his latest squeeze, Miami blonde Elaine Spottswood, according to New York Post gossip column Page Six.

Rodriguez reportedly told pals he called time on the short-lived romance after Spottswood became “too clingy”.

“Alex and Elaine would see each other every day at the gym,” a source told the Post. “But he was overheard telling friends that Elaine was getting too clingy, so he had to end it with her.”

Rodriguez apparently dumped Bride Wars star Hudson for the same reason.

Alex, 34, has two children with his ex-wife Cynthia.
