Adam Lambert: ‘My Fans Don’t Care About Controversy ‘

Posted by Adam

Adam LambertADAM Lambert insists his young fans “don’t really care” about the controversies surrounding him.

The singer — who caused furor with his raunchy performance at the American Music Awards last year — recently helped distribute classroom supplies at an East Los Angeles school. He also performed with some of the students.

“A lot of people were upset over that performance because they were thinking, ‘Oh, my God, the children!’” Lambert told CNN.

“But what is so funny to me is that by making such a big deal out of it, they drew more attention to it, and the children can see anything they want on the internet, anyway.

“So in actuality — in a full-circle way — because of their protest, it was probably more visible to the children, because kids, teenagers, tend to look at what they’re not supposed to look at. So I think if it’s a big deal, just sweep it under the rug, like I did. Next! Moving on.”

Love all things about Adam Lambert. I’m old enough to know my friends at school do drugs and I’m also old enough to know I won’t. I am also old enough to know that Adam Lambert is not promoting drug use he is just expressing his opinion and being open and honest when saying yes he tried stuff before. People need to chill. Enjoy his music and understand this is life, this is rock and roll and stop being so serious all the time.

Adam has it right. I have four kids and they weren’t impacted by his performance. They are all teenagers, except for one 20 year old; what they have heard at school is much worse. I can try to control their computers, but I can’t control their friends computers, and they are much more informed than I was at their age. If you make a moutain out of something – it attracts them to it. If you ask them their thoughts and have a meaningful conversation – my kids didn’t see it as any different than the other performers that night. They aren’t homophobic by nature and they got that it was merely a performance.

Live and let live – that’s the lesson we need to teach our children. Rock on, Adam!

OMG are you kidding me? Can we seriously move on? Young people are exposed to so much. We really have a double standard going on here anyway. We know is was distasteful for mainstream tv but enough. So much more is exposed on TV have you watch 2 1/2 Men??? Gee what the hay here. We can only teach acceptable behavior for differences when we know about them and as adult show tolerence.

Adam is right. He is honest. Some of the parents that think he is a bad example are giving their children Ritalin or antidepressants and are sipping martinis. Smoking pot is less harmful then any of the three. I voted for Ron Paul because he does not believe in drug laws. People should be responsible for their own lives. Adam’s honesty is refreshing. Adam’s fans do not give a damn about the controversy because he is a good person and an unbelievable entertainer. It is the press that has the problem, not Adam.
