ROBERT Pattinson says fame has robbed him of his inspiration.

The British actor — who became a household name playing vampire Edward Cullen in the Twilight movie franchise — says being recognized wherever he goes means he can no longer show up at open mic nights and make up songs on the spot.

“I used to write a lot more music by just doing gigs, just turning up to open mics and stuff with two lines of the song and then the pressure would force me to make something up on the spot,” said Rob. “And I can’t really do that anymore, which was my main process for writing songs.

“When I sit down to write some lyrics it just sounds like rubbish. All the songs I’ve done before were based on as much of a stream of consciousness as you can get.”

Rob, 23, recently insisted comments he made about being allergic to vaginas were a joke.

I was just talking about this earlier. I was just saying like I had two lessons, don’t try and make jokes in interviews and then the second one is like, just don’t do interviews at all,” he told Access Hollywood.

“Don’t talk about vaginas, people are very sensitive about them… It’s so funny… The whole story was because I thought people would be offended by the photos, and then they get offended by the little jokey explanation of it… I don’t know, the world’s a weird place.”
