Helena Bonham Carter Surprised to Land ‘Alice’ Role

HELENA Bonham Carter says she was “really flattered” when partner Tim Burton asked her to appear in Alice In Wonderland.
The British actress — who raises two young child with the eccentric director — plays the part of the Red Queen in the movie, which hits theaters today.
And Helena admits she was shocked to be cast in the role.
“I was doing Terminator Salvation at the time and when he asked me I was really flattered,” she said.
“”It was a complete surprise. I know people think it’s disingenuous when I say that, but it’s true.
“Each time [he has a film] I truly don’t expect Tim to ever want to work with me again.
“I learned that when I read it in the script…
“I personally find it especially flattering that he [Burton] tends to deform me in every movie…
“But that’s the point of acting, isn’t it? It’s all dress-up.”
