Robert PattinsonROBERT Pattinson loves being compared to James Dean.

The Twilight hunk insists it isn’t a “bad thing” that people liken him to the late Hollywood star.

“I don’t think that’s a bad thing at all, quite the opposite in fact. I think James Dean was one of the most influential people to young guys, especially actors, definitely in the last fifty years,” says Rob.

“I’m not ashamed to say, ‘yeah, I am very much influenced by him’ and to be even in the same ball park as him is amazing.”

Rob, 23, recently revealed he tries his best not to react when he’s being followed by the paparazzi.

“It’s just sort of learning how to blank things out,” he said. “But you can’t look up. Because then all the cameras accelerate.

“You know, you can’t smile, or behave normally.

“You just have to be disciplined about it.”

        EJ I live in Manchester(“Or wherever in the UK” LOL). Our winters are definately cold and this year have been very snowy our summers aren’t up to much either, the last couple of years we get a few days or maybe a couple of weeks that are really nice so you can’t blink or else you miss it.

        I’m in Surrey Bev and it’s pretty cold here at the moment. But it’s sunny! The heating in our house is knackered and not getting repaired ’till Monday :(

        Yes sorry, On the tv programme a woman was drunk and turned to a man and said can you smell my charlie, she meant a perfume called charlie but the implication was something else and it was a comedy about northern people (mainly Manchester) so the phrase charlie came from that. When I first said it before I did mean charlies angels but then as I said earlier my mind has had time to hit the gutter so hence the conversation since then.

        Mmmmmm!! When I first started to read it I understood what she was saying and accept it but then it goes into an insult on her fans, yet again, but done in a nice way. What I don’t get is if she really doesn’t want people staring at her etc. then don’t be an actress because as a lay person even I know its part and parcel of it all. So live with it or get out.

        Hello again! Yes, I’m gonna have to add my 2 cents to the article you are talking about. Since I am now on neutral ground as far as Robsten is concerned and to avoid getting gang whipped by the lovely ladies on this comment section, I’m gonna play the objective observer, devils advocate…whatever! Okey Dokey, here goes nothing. What I think she was trying to say is that 1. She can’t understand why people would come out period to see a celebrity. Especially in the cold and wait for hours just to get a glimps. Which she’s right. She almost appears modest but the celebrity has gone straight to both her and Rob’s egos. That’s a given! 2. Since she basically said that she feels comfortable more in England and That’s understandable since the Americans are crazier than the Brits. And that’s the truth! But it’s the Americans fans that should be insulted if anything. Personally, I think the fans go hand in hand with the fame. She & Rob better adjust. She did admit that on the other side of things (for lack of the exact words, right now) that the benefits, perks.. MONEY she earns (which brain surgeons don’t even get for saving a life I might add) is worth it. I just think it obscene the kind of money actors make. I do think that she should be able to dress and wear her hair any way that she likes without the criticism. The exception would be on certain occasions like any award show etc. Well, I could go on but I won’t continue to bore you “haters”. I see Ashley rolling her eyes at me! LOL But Ashley, as far as Summit replacing her, I wouldn’t hold my breathe. As long as their is a Robsten the money is gonna keep flowing in. It’s a business. What it boils down to is that Kristen is damned if she does and damned it she don’t. Actually I think her new movie The Runaways is gonna do better than Rob’s Remember Me movie. Time will tell.

I think she looks the part, she just can’t act it. She done 3 of the movies so replacing her now would just be odd. Sometimes I think she comes off a little self conscience. Even though she doesn’t self deprecate herself like Rob does, I think part of her knows she really doesn’t deserve the position she’s in. But that’s true for all of them. They can’t claim any of it. Stephanie Meyer is the only mastermind behind Twilight.

I do agree with you that I don’t think she thinks she deserves the fame and fortune either. At least not this fast anyway. Rob either for that matter. Most actors work all their lives for their sort of stardom, some achieve it and some not so lucky. I say ditto to your last sentence.

        I also agree with you Kim on the money they make is vulgar when people who make a big difference in everybodys everyday life get a small percentage of what the celebs earn but at the moment thats life. But I still have to go back to it if she felt so comfortable here in England she sure didn’t show it at the Bafta’s – complete opposite.

        I agree 100% about Stephanie Meyer’s the books are fantastic, the whole idea is great. I am not a romance person never have been I’d rather watch action, vampires and zombies so I really appreciate these novels/films, she managed to get my attention so she gets full credit for that.

    I read the article and it sure seems like she was trashing her fans again with her quote about running the other way. Although…if she realizes that fans even notice what kind of sneakers she wears, it would explain the big smile on her face at the airport when she was wearing Robs shirt from the night before.       YOu know Kim that is funny I loved the struggle Bella had between her love for Jacob and her eternal love for Edward. I found that most fascinating. I knew who she would pick but it kept my emotions on end.

        Oh that was a breaking point for me it really was. I know people found Jacobs part in BD boring I did not. I completely got him and felt sorry for him he was so in love. And I have to admit Bella ticked me off a few times for leading him on. She always called him when she was in deep trouble. And she kissed him in Eclipse. I felt for Jacob bit was happy he found his happy ending.

      I know Kim!! I could quote all day from those books. :) I was hooked by the time I’d finished the first page. The line “When life hands you a dream so far beyond anything you could have ever hoped for, it is not reasonable to grieve when it ends”. (I think I’m close, right? lol) Anyway, that was all it took. I didn’t put the first book down until I had finished it. :)
