KATY PERRY LANDS STARRING ROLE IN SMURFS MOVIE!
KATY Perry is to lend her voice to the upcoming Smurfs movie.
The I Kissed a Girl singer — who’s currently engaged to British comedian Russell Brand — will reportedly take on the role of Smurfette.
British actor Alan Cumming and How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris are also linked to the project, a mixture of live-action and animation.
Raja Gosnell will reportedly direct the film, set for release in 2011.
The Smurfs — known for their blue skin, white hats and mushroom houses — were the stars of a popular 1980s TV series.
Perry recently revealed she sometimes feels like a “big strawberry with a face on it”.
“Some of the kid s— I’ve grown out of completely…I’m taking it out on the Shirley Temple, Betty Boop, Lichtenstein kind of thing,” she said last month.
“It’s still fun, but a bit darker. It’s not as annoying. Sometimes, I feel like a big strawberry with a face on it.”

James Cameron also wrote and directed the highest grossed movie I think of all time. Titanic! It won 11 oscars and had 48 nominations. I think Avatar has grossed more than Titanic did in it first weekend release. I don’t know that it will gross more in the long run but it just might.
Oh, it’s been in the news that Johnny Depp’s new movie Alice in Wonderland has already done better than Avatar did in it’s first day release out of both movies.

Gone With the Wind is still the top grossing movie of all time by a fair margin when you adjust for inflation. Titanic and Avatar are right up there at 2nd and 3rd respectively.
