QUENTIN Tarantino wants to make a romantic comedy.

The director of Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill and Inglorious Bastards says he’s keen to make a movie that tells a love story.

“I’d love to make a romantic comedy and take it out of the ghetto it’s been exiled to,” said the movie-maker. “I have done love stories; they’ve just been in my other movies,

“True Romance‘s title was not ironic. Sure, James Gandolfini almost beats Patricia Arquette to death and she has to blow him away with a shotgun, but that doesn’t mean it’s not romantic. It just has to be done my way, and I think people want me to do it my way.”

Tarantino, 46, also revealed plans for a prequel to the Brad Pitt-starring Basterds: “At a certain point, there’s a third Kill Bill movie. A prequel to Inglourious Basterds.

“And sooner or later I’ll make another gangster film.”

Tarantino has previously revealed that he’s a huge fan of rom-coms.

“These rom-coms get a bad rap but actually I’ve been a fan of romantic comedies since the 30s — they usually work on wordplay and everything like that, so I actually think I’d be really good at it,” he said.

“It is a guilty pleasure. I used to find it hard to actually go to the movies by myself, you want to have a date with you so you have an excuse to go.”
