Corey Haim Was Helping His Mom Beat Cancer

Posted by Adam

Corey HaimCOREY Haim was living with his mother to help her battle cancer prior to his shock death.

The Lost Boys actor mother Judy is totally heartbroken by the passing of her son — who died aged 38 at their Los Angeles home on Wednesda from an alleged prescription drugs overdose — and has revealed he was caring for her because she has breast cancer.

“I am a cancer victim and Corey was helping me at home,” said Judy. “He was a good boy. I’m devastated by his death.”

The bereaved parent — who is divorced from Corey’s father Bernie — telephoned emergency services early on Wednesday morning and he was later taken to Providence St. Joseph’s Medical Center, in Burbank, California, where he was pronounced dead.

Los Angeles Coroner assistant chief Ed Winter has now revealed four prescription drugs bottles were found at the apartment.

“There were no illicit drugs found at the residence,” said Winter. “There were four normal prescription bottles taken.”

Winter has also confirmed there will now be an investigation to confirm the cause of death, which has currently bee ruled as inconclusive pending an autopsy and toxicology test.

“The Los Angeles Police Department reported it was a possible drug overdose, but we’ve seen no signs of foul play at this time,” he added. “It’s pending an autopsy and toxicology.”

Corey shot to fame in the 80s after appearing in a string of popular movies, including The Lost Boys, which also starred Kiefer Sutherland.

Corey had made no secret of his battles with drug abuse and in 2000 he confessed to taking large quantities of the sedative Valium every day.

But it appeared to be a battle he had won and in 2004 he claimed he had overcome his substance abuse problems, saying, “I’m clean, sober, humble and happy.”

The problem today and now is that we all need a sense of well being, most people have alot of stress with there lives.People have been “trained” to hide there real feelings, It used to be “o.k” to have a cocktail to relax and unwind, unfortunately,a better way to “hide” is take a pill,it does not smell, you can take it whenever you want to and knowone really knows that your feeling “great” after taking this drug, and it is not illegal. A doctor wrote a prescription for it it must be o.k
what a state of chaos we are in. I personally know people that think drinking alcohol or smoking pot is very bad for you yet, they take valium, xanax or others 10 times a day….why would they want a drink..or pot they are already high…..our whole so called drug system needs reform..I will be the first to help…

I agree people are drawn to”things” that do not make themselves look”bad” it is a sad situation when you have someone like”michael Jackson” not openly drink alcohol but, take a drug in silence that took his life.Stigmas have got to go..prescription drugs are no better than illegal drugs..remember history LSD was legal….there is no easy answer for us as humans not to want to “feel” the “real” world all of the time.
