TEEN star Dakota Fanning hit the red carpet Thursday night for the Los Angeles premiere of her hotly-awaited new movie The Runaways.

In the film — a biopic of ’70s band The Runaways — Fanning, 16, plays Cherie Currie, the group’s lead singer.

The movie also stars Kristen Stewart as Joan Jett.

Also in the movie? Kristen and Dakota kiss! Each other!

“Yes, it happens in The Runaways,” Fanning recently told Access Hollywood of the onscreen smooch.

“It was passionate. We’re playing Joan Jett and Cherie Curie and they’re best friends in the film and became really close in real life. And that’s something that went down back in the ‘70s.

“We were so into the scene and into the script and the characters.”

The Runaways hits movie theaters in April.

    Dakota Fanning gets prettier and prettier as she gets older.Those huge blue eyes pull you in.I think if she was six feet tall she could be a model.They say people should watch the The Runaways just to watch Dakota lick the pills off the table in one of the scenes when they are getting high.

        Bev-Hi.I loved her in that two.I liked her also in the I am Sam when she played the daughter of Sean Penn.I think that is one of her better movies when she was a kid.

    Methinks Dakota will be around loooooong after the shrew! It’s gross how KS is always hanging all over her & everyone else.

      I think one day they may be giving her the lifetime achievement award at the Oscars when she is like 70 years old.

        I wouldn’t know if or when they did because I will be 94 years old so I will either be dead or so senial that I won’t know whats going on.

      I agree Ashley I think KS has been very lucky up to now she’s either been in films that have carried her or other actors that have carried her. Whereas Dakota has been in films with established stars and she’s proved herself in everything i’ve ever seen her in.

        Bev-I hate fridays because where I work the computers get slower when you hit 4:30pm because people are trying to finish up and hid home for the weekend.
