AMANDA Seyfried put pen to paper for her role in movie Dear John – she wrote a song which appeared on the film’s soundtrack.

The actress — who proved her musical credentials in the movie-musical Mamma Mia! — says she was over the moon when Dear John director Lasse Hallstrom asked her to bring her guitar on set to write a song for the film, which culminated in the track, Little House, being included on the soundtrack.

“It was a happy accident,” Amanda told British Glamour. “The director asked me to bring my guitar on set and I ended up singing a song that I’d written, which ended up on the soundtrack.

“Writing songs is a stress-buster for me.”

Amanda recently admitted it felt “unnatural” shooting sex scenes for her new movie Chloe.

“It was unnatural — I say that with a grin,” said the star, who is currently dating British actor Dominic Cooper.

“Seriously, it is not the type of scene any actor is ever comfortable doing. Any kind of intimacy is strange. It is not your partner; it’s the actor or actress.

“I don’t know what goes through my mind when I do these scenes. I am listening to Atom’s technical directions, because things need to be in sync with the camera’s movement.”
