Dakota Fanning at The Runaways New York City Premiere — Pictures!

DAKOTA Fanning stepped out for the New York City premiere of her new movie The Runaways Wednesday night.
In the film — a biopic about ’70s rockers The Runaways — Fanning, 16, plays the role of frontwoman Cherie Currie.
The movie, which also stars Twilight actress Kristen Stewart as Joan Jett, hits movie theaters April 9.
Fanning recently insisted she won’t be ditching her acting career to become a singer.
“I never thought of myself as a singer,” she said earlier this month. “I’ve always been kind of self-conscious about singing but I’ve realized if I’m playing a character I can do it because I kind of get to hide behind her a little bit.
“But just as Dakota Fanning, I would pass out.”
