GEORGE Clooney voted for Jeff Bridges for this year’s Best Actor Academy Award.
Clooney — who was also nominated in the Best Actor category for is role in Up In The Air — apparently punched his ballot for Bridges and then photographed it and sent it to the Hollywood veteran.
“Story is true,” Clooney’s rep, Stan Rosnfield, told New York Post gossip column Page Six. “According to George, ‘It was an amazing performance.’
“He also told Jeff, ‘If you don’t win, you can’t blame me.’”
Jeff then went on to win the gong for his role in Crazy Heart.
Clooney, 48, recently insisted he doesn’t take success for granted.
“Before I came to Hollywood I was the son of a famous newsman and my aunt Rosemary had been one of the biggest stars in the music business in her day (she starred in White Christmas),” he said earlier this month. “So I knew what it meant to be a celebrity and how it could all go away pretty fast.
“My father taught me about having principles and how to treat people with respect. My aunt also taught me how to keep a perspective on everything that happens to you. So you learn to be humble and not take your success for granted.”
