MILEY Cyrus says Jesus “saved” her.

The Hannah Montana star, 17, insists she’s deeply religious but doesn’t feel the need to go to church every Sunday to prove her faith.

“I don’t necessarily define my faith by going to church every Sunday,” she said. “Because now when I go to church, I feel like it’s a show. There are always cameras outside. I am very spiritual in my own way.

“Let me make it clear, though — I am a Christian. Jesus is who saved me. He’s what keeps me full and whole. But everyone is entitled to what they believe and what keeps them full.

“Hopefully, I can influence people and help them follow the same path I am on, but it is not my job to tell people what they are doing wrong.”

Miley recently revealed the she can’t wait for Hannah Montana to finally wrap later this year.

“What I am sure about is I’m going to rejoice and be happy to finally not have to be…well, to not be somebody I’m not exactly,” she said earlier this month.

“As I’ve grown into it, I’ve grown out of it. Does that make sense? When I was 12, I thought, ‘I want to be famous all the time! I want everybody to recognize me!’

“When they’re putting me in sparkles and in pink this final season, I have to grit my teeth. I can’t breathe looking like that anymore. A friend came by the set one day and said, ‘You don’t look very happy.’ I said, ‘I’m feeling claustrophobic in all these frills.’”

I think people need to let this child breath,and as far as her being saved well who’s to judge that only her and thae Great God in Heaven know the truth about that but a word of advice honey usually when a person turns their heart over to God they wonna go to church every chance every time the doors are open but like i said God is the only Judge we have.

I agree. i reconciled with God 9 months ago and the desire to go to continue to go to church and build a better relationship with Him is still there. Just because you say you believe in christ doesnt mean you love him…and to be honest it’s not enough. Draw yourself closer to God and God will draw closer to you.
Just so u kno I AM 17 as well and it feels so much better to b submerged in Christ than to be submerged in the world. I never want to go back to how I was before.

Hannah. I am so sorry you feel the way that you do. Instead of being so bitter toward Jesus, The Catholic Church and your parents, why don’t you take the time to research Catholicism and Jesus’ being the Incarnate Word? Itoo used to be like you, but then I took the time to educate myself. What I found out was truly amazing. Your parents raised you Catholic because that was the only thing they knew and however “ignorant” that seems, they did the best they could with what they knew and loved you enough to instill in you some form of religion.

I respect anyones beliefs which are formed thru education of said subject. WOW people still believe a jewish carpenter saved the world?? Jesus was a man. Only a man, thats all history proves. I WAS RAISED A CATHOLIC UNTIL I REALIZED MY PARENTS FORCED THE CATHOLIC RELIGION ON ME. I asked them why and they had no valid reason beyond they wanted to force their beliefs down my throat. I asked them why i couldnt choose another belief and again they had no valid reason. All aross america and the world, people become Muslim because their parents are.
WHAT DO YOU THINK NOW??? OK for christians but not Muslims. Is that your conclusion?

She is a very mature minded young lady, but still enjoys doing teenager things. Like she said in an article I read in Parade this weekend, “People forget what they were like when they were teenagers”. That was based on all of the criticism she received because of the teen choice awards performance. She is absolutely right, she is still just a 17 year old girl and she will do normal 17 yr old things, just in a bigger way. She will hang out with her boyfriend, perform pranks on friends, dress inappropriately sometimes, all while traveling around the world! It is all a matter of growing up. I think she is a good role model for girls, she teaches girls to be who they are and not to follow others. Miley is a free spirited person, and I think the world needs more of them around.

I think this is a very confused little girl. I just read the other day that she and her boyfriend were “looking into” Buddhism. And now she says that she doesn’t go to church? Does this kid even own a Bible? Maybe she should pick it up and read it once in a while. It’s great and all that she’s professing her Christianity, but she needs to get her facts straight. You can be saved by accepting Christ, but without strong faith, it will frizzle sooner. With strong faith, Christians try to show their confession to Christ by action. When you and your boy friend live together without marriage (even as a minor), people won’t believe your faith. Miley’s parents should also know that parents have right to protect their children of minor and should not put them together in a same house.
If they like the boy friend, they should get an apartment for him and if he needs financial help, they should pay for him. Don’t be a bad example as a Christian.

Miley, the bible says in Hebrews 10:23-25 “do not forsake the gathering together of the brethen” Going to church on Sunday or whenever you go is for you to gain strength to make it during the week. To fellowship with other believers so that you can have a fresh word from God. It’s for your benefit and where you are and what you do, you need all the streghth and fellowship you can take to make it. So if your going to say your Christian then be one, everywhere, everytime, and especially when no one is watching. God bless.

How about a little tolerance? Perhaps your own resentment towards your childhood or parents coupled with arrogance may be stopping you from connecting with God or opening your heart. You harbor a lot anger and are cynical, so you are closed to the Word and to people who believe.
The principles and ideals presented by Christian faiths are admirable and what our laws and country were built upon. Our Founding Fathers knew that the Constitution and a free republic would only succeed for a just and moral society. Our rights don’t come from man or the government. We have them from a higher being..who instilled the desire to be free in our hearts. Your parents did a bad job of explaining why they were church goers..that does not mean that they were fake or did not benefit from it.
The Bible is a handbook or guide for life. Those who believe are at a different place spiritually than you and they believe they will be at a different place than you when they leave this place.
Comparing Christianity to Islam is ridiculous. Their religion is not about peace, helping others or forgiveness. It teaches that you have no free will and that women are beneath men.
Try to show some empathy and consideration for others who think differently before you make your broad condemnation of a religion that is practiced by the whole world.

way to go miley—if you notice the first thing they will do is accuse you of serving 2 masters.then they will try and totaly avoid what you said ,twisting it around.saying that you must gather together with them or you cant really be saved.also take notice that from here on ,this type of people will never quit trying to save you……they are the weak ones;unfortunate for them they no longer have the courage to try and enjoy life as it was meant for them to experience…..and end up being useless to the Lord in his grand plan.

Look, the girl is 17. Let her grow in her faith and if she actually reads the bible instead of just being saved she will see that Jesus wants fellowship Ms. Miley. Stop using the paparazzi as an excuse. I go to a church in Los Angeles that has celebs that are as famous as you and they are not there taking pictures because they are sleeping from spending Saturday nights chasing the non-Christ like stars who are parting all night at places like the Viper Room. Even if one were to show up and I doubt it there are ushers at the door and they would not be let in with the cameras.
Now stay with him and the light will never leave you and your career will continue to flourish way beyond childhood. I am proud of you but get in Church every week as Jesus would want you to draw closer to him.

As Christians- we are to strive to be Christ-like and obey his commands. How is there ANYTHING Christ-like about her? She is a absolutely horrible example of a ‘Christian’ to those who don’t know Christ. But I guess she lives pretty much the same way 98 % of the so called Christians in America live- so she’s just following what she sees as being ok because nobody preaches against sin and repentance anymore. This is so sad. Anyone can say they are saved and a Christian- most of America claims to be Christian yet sin is rampant and babies are killed everyday. Also in Colossians 3:1-7~ If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.

I’m not going to tell you what you should or should not do, I’m going to tell you what you can do. You can trust in the Lord with all your heart mind soul and strength, and lean not on your on understanding but his alone, and you can use the bible as a guide, because the bible says the word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. It would help you better understand life and tell why you where palced in this world, and what your here to do, but you must have faith in God. first off, you say only if you pray then you will get to heaven. Last time I checked, my bible says that only repentance and faith in Jesus Christ as the WAY to God is our only guarantee to Heaven! The Qur’an is not the Word of God for two reasons: number one, the Words were DEFINTELY not inspired by God but by men especially that vision Mohammed received from “Angel” Gabriel! I think he received a vision from Satan to be honest. what God tells his followers to go round converting people by the sword if they do not yield? hmmmmm? My God says if you refuse to repent, God will see to it Himself, and NOT in the hands of mere men. number two, there are logical fallacies in the Qur’an! Are you telling me that all I have to do to get to heaven, is pray five times a day, perform Islamic duties and be “good”? what is the Qur’an (and Muslims) idea of good? what if you miss a day of prayer? Does Allah over look it? Or is he righteous to send that person to Hell for eternity?
My God says in the Bible that our good works are like filthy rags, no one is capable of keeping the Law perfectly throughout His life, that is why we NEED a SAVIORU, by which men may have rightness with God and HIS NAME IS JESUS because He will, has and can SAVE His people! That is the God of the Bible!
