PENELOPE CRUZ TO PLAY JOHNNY DEPP’S LOVER IN FOURTH PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN MOVIE!

PENELOPE Cruz has a new boyfriend — on the big screen!
The Hollywood beauty, 35, is to play Johnny Depp‘s love interest in the next Pirates of the Caribbean film.
The actress was cast in the Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides in February but her role wasn’t specified.
Producer Jerry Bruckheimer has now explained that Penelope will portray the daughter of evil pirate Blackbeard, who clashes with Depp’s Captain Jack Sparrow and is being played by Ian McShane.
“She brings a lot of humor to it. And the fact that she’s so feisty”, Bruckheimer told MTV, adding that there will be “a little romance between Captain Jack and the character that Penelope plays.”
Neither Orlando Bloom nor Keira Knightley will return for the fourth adventure.
Knightley, who played Elizabeth Swann, recently explained why she isn’t coming back.
“I said when I finished the trilogy that that was going to be it,” she said earlier this week. “I had a wonderful time on it and I met some extraordinary people but, you know, I think for me three is enough, definitely.”
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides will hit theaters May 20, 2011.
Cruz recently admitted she’s still in awe of her own success.
“I still can’t believe that I won the Oscar last year because of the way I grew up,” said the star, who bagged the Best Supporting Actress gong for her role in Woody Allen film Vicky Cristina Barcelona.
“Just to dream about becoming an actress and making a living out of that sounded like science fiction in my environment. You know, I come from a family where we had just what we needed to survive. So to dream about this type of job was crazy.
“If I hadn’t had the discipline of all those years in the dance world, it would have been much, much tougher.
“I mean, it goes too far sometimes. I mean, I used to take my toenails — they would die from dancing — so I would just take the whole toenail and throw it away, and not feel anything.
“But I loved it.”
