NADYA SULEMAN BEATS KATE GOSSELIN, SARAH PALIN AS MOST CONTROVERSIAL CELEBRITY MOM!

Nadya SulemanNADYA Suleman — she of Octomom fame — has topped Babble.com‘s new “Most Controversial Mom” list.

The 34-year-old — who gave birth to octuplets last year and now has 14 children under the age of eight — saw off competition from fellow reality TV star Kate Gosselin, former Alaskan governor Sarah Palan and 19 Kids & Counting star Michelle Duggar.

“Definitely one of the most controversial Moms ever — Nadya Suleman (dubbed “Octomom”) made headlines as an unemployed, single mother of six (on public assistance) when she gave birth to octuplets in January, 2009,” Babble states on its website. “The country stood in shock, until it was revealed Nadya intentionally had six (!) embryos implanted in her because she couldn’t bear to see them destroyed. To say the public perception of Octomom is negative is an understatement, but we probably won’t be seeing the last of Nadya Suleman or her 14 simultaneously crying children — the real victims in this situation.”

Michelle Obama was named the No. 1 “Best Mom.”

Tina Fey, Jennifer Garner and Reese Witherspoon round out the Top 5.

    I think the name ‘octomom’ belongs to someone who had 8 babies at one time, not someone who had a couple of litters. So that would mean that Kate should be ‘sextomom’ which short of suits her. There are a lot of mothers out there with a total of 8 kids who don’t call themselves octomom. Nadya actually has 14 but she is called octomom from having 8 at once. Plus, the ‘mom’ part in Kate’s case is pretty much a gift, she does nothing to warrant the title. Her priorities are usually based around her wants rather than her kids needs.

    i dont know why they say michelle duggar is a controversial mom, she is obviously a good mom, havent you seen her program,
    Kate Gosselin, Nadya Suleman, and Angelina are definitely controversial but not michelle

    Octo Mom is nuts on so many levels. I would definitely agree that she is the most controversial mother in the entire country, and she has earned that title. Seriously…pedicures, Wii purchases, gym memberships, 14 kids via in-vitro…but she can’t pay her mortgage? She was on food stamps when she was pregnant with the octuplets. Those poor children. I feel horribly for them. They didn’t choose this.
